Procedures

Dr. Ali has extensive training and experience performing endoscopic procedures. Most procedures are performed in our state-of-the-art office endoscopy center, which has been designed for your safety, comfort and privacy.  We are fully accredited by New York State and are the only designated center on the east end to be recognized by the ASGE.  If you are having one of these procedures please call the office to confirm the specific preparation instructions for you.

Colonoscopy

A test that allows Dr. Ali to look at the inner lining of the large intestine.  He uses a thin camera to look at the colon.  A colonoscopy helps diagnose ulcers, colon polyps, tumor, areas of inflammation and bleeding.  Click on the link below to the specific colonoscopy prep that you have been prescribed.  If you are not sure which prep is correct for you, please call the office at (631) 723-0600.

Esophagogastroduodenoscopy or EGD (Upper endoscopy)

This is a test to examine the lining of the esophagus, stomach, and first part of the small intestine.  EGD can help diagnose inflammation, ulcers, polyps, tumors, celiac disease or lactose intolerance.  Click on this link  EGD prep for the EGD preparation instructions.

EGD with BRAVO

This procedure allows Dr. Ali to place a wireless capsule on the esophagus to monitor acid levels for 48 hours.  Click on the EGD prep for instructions.

EGD with Cryotherapy

This procedure uses cryotherapy or CO2 to freeze premalignant lesions in the esophagus.  Click on the EGD prep for instructions.

Capsule Endoscopy
